Readiness Assessment
I review your data, your tools and the manual work eating your week, then hand you a ranked list of what to automate, what to clean up first and what to leave alone.
Jim Bruning Analytics Studio
I'm Jim. I build the data pipelines, dashboards and AI agents that small teams run on, with the same guardrails I used building data systems for Northwestern University and in healthcare tech.
Most of them stall in one of two places. The data is too messy to trust, or nobody can say what the AI is actually allowed to do. I fix both, starting with whichever one is costing you more.
Featured build
An AI operations agent that can look up orders, issue refunds, update your CRM and email customers. Every action it tries passes a written policy check before it runs, and every decision lands in an audit log you can verify.
Refunds over $100 wait for a manager. Emails can only go to domains already on the customer's record. Customer details get redacted before the AI ever sees them.
Every engagement starts with an assessment, and what it finds decides the next step. The assessment fee is credited toward whichever sprint follows.
I review your data, your tools and the manual work eating your week, then hand you a ranked list of what to automate, what to clean up first and what to leave alone.
Your data cleaned, modeled and flowing into one place, with dashboards that update themselves instead of a spreadsheet someone rebuilds every Monday.
One real use case taken to a working AI prototype in your own accounts, with guardrails, an audit trail and a plain-English security memo.
I stay on as your fractional data and AI team, keeping things running and shipping the next improvement.
Before I connect to anything, I'll tell you exactly what I need access to, what I'm going to change and how you can switch my access off. I start read-only, I work in your accounts so you own everything I build, and if a step needs more access I'll explain why before asking for it.

I've worked as a data engineer and analyst at Northwestern University, and my recent work is with a healthcare technology company, where getting data wrong isn't an option. I work in SQL, Python, dbt, AWS, Tableau and the current AI tools, and I care most about the boring parts that make AI safe to use: policies, tests and audit trails.
Bring one process that eats your week. We'll look at it together and I'll tell you what I'd do. If it's not a fit, I'll say so on the call and point you somewhere better.
